Traditionally hang on the eastern wall of the synagogue, Mizrah points to Jerusalem and Israel, direction in which Jewish people face while praying. It is an Ashkenazi symbol similar to Sephardi Shevitti. I have designed this papercut around letter Mem, the first letter in a Mizrah.
